Roll-down shutters in Carteret County.
When the evacuation notices go out for Bogue Banks, you don't want to be racing the traffic off the island with half your windows still bare. Roll-down shutters secure a whole house in minutes — by hand crank or from a smartphone — which makes them a favorite for Emerald Isle and Salter Path beach homes that sit empty between visits. Wilmington Awning installs impact-certified aluminum roll shutters that add security and energy savings the rest of the year.

Close the house from anywhere.
Horizontal aluminum slats ride in side tracks and stow inside a slim box above each window or door, so the shutters all but vanish until you need them. Crank them down by hand, or add a motor and close every opening by remote or phone — even if you're two hours from your Indian Beach cottage when the forecast turns. Off-season, the same shutters deter break-ins at unoccupied rentals, block heat off west-facing soundfront glass, and black out bedrooms for late sleepers. Every unit wears a baked-on powder coat that stands up to Crystal Coast salt air.
- ES / 40mm slats — Florida Building Code-approved protection in a compact profile.

- 63mm slats — Florida Building Code-approved for larger openings and patio doors.
- Manual or motorized — choose a smooth hand crank or add a motor with remote and smartphone control.
- Color choices — white, ivory, mocha, and beige in a durable baked-on powder coat.
- Everyday benefits — added security, improved energy efficiency, and room-darkening privacy year-round.
