Topsail sits right in the path of the storms that run up the Carolina coast. We fit island homes with impact-rated storm shutters and screens, measured and installed by our own crews from Wilmington.

Topsail Island runs about 26 miles between the ocean and the sound, shared by three towns: Surf City in the middle, Topsail Beach to the south and North Topsail Beach to the north. Bertha and Fran hit the island hard in 1996, and Florence brought days of wind and water in 2018. Islanders do not need convincing that storm protection matters.
What changes from house to house is the right system. A raised oceanfront house on pilings takes wind from open water on every side. A soundside cottage has big sliders facing the marsh. A rental that sits empty midweek needs protection the owner can close from away. We measure every opening, then recommend the mix that suits it.
For most Topsail homes that means roll shutters on the windows that face the ocean, accordion shutters on doors and sliders, storm panels where budget comes first, and a hurricane screen across the porch. Many island owners add Bahama shutters for the exterior shutter look that shades the house all summer and latches down for storms.

Yes. We install hurricane and storm shutters in all three island towns, Surf City, Topsail Beach and North Topsail Beach, on oceanfront, soundside and second-row homes. Our crews come up from our Wilmington shop, and we also cover the mainland side in Hampstead, Holly Ridge and Sneads Ferry.
If nobody lives in the house full time, choose a system that does not need someone on site with a ladder. Motorized roll shutters close at the push of a button, and accordion shutters stay mounted beside doors and sliders and close by hand in minutes. Storm panels are the most economical certified option, but someone has to put them up before every storm.
Yes, and it is most of what we do on the island. Roll and accordion shutters stay mounted on every floor, so nothing has to be carried up a ladder when a storm is coming. Where panels make sense, we add inside pulls on upper-level openings so they are easier and safer to set.
Our systems are aluminum with powder-coated or painted finishes and corrosion-resistant hardware chosen for the coast. Salt air is still hard on tracks and motors, so we offer pre-season maintenance and repair to keep them closing smoothly.
Yes. Bahama shutters give an island house year-round shade and latch closed for storms, and hurricane screens protect a whole porch opening while doubling as shade and bug screening the rest of the year.
