Home/Hurricane Shutters/Repair & Maintenance

Service

Shutters only protect you if they work.

Hurricane shutter repair and pre-season tune-ups across Wilmington and the Cape Fear coast. Stuck tracks, tired motors, missing hardware: fixed before the season, not during it.

Technician-level view of accordion hurricane shutters on a coastal home

Salt air is patient. Give it a few seasons and it will find the fasteners, stiffen the tracks, and chew at anything that moves. The shutters look fine from the driveway, right up until the afternoon you actually need them to close.

That is why shutter systems deserve the same treatment as your HVAC: a real service visit before the demanding season starts. Our crews inspect every opening, clean and lubricate tracks, test motors and cranks, cycle each shutter fully, and replace corroded hardware, so that when a storm shows up on the map, closing the house takes minutes instead of becoming a crisis.

We repair and maintain the systems we install, and if your shutters came from another company, tell us what you have and we will let you know if we can take care of them. Thinking about replacing an aging system instead? Compare today's impact-certified options, from motorized roll shutters to hurricane screens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions our coastal customers ask.

My shutters weren't installed by you. Can you still help?

Reach out and tell us what you have. We work on the shutter types we know best, roll, accordion, panel, Bahama, and colonial systems, and once we see the brand and condition we will tell you honestly whether we can service it.

When should I have my shutters serviced?

Before hurricane season, ideally in winter or spring. The worst time to learn a motor is dead or a track is bent is the day a storm enters the forecast, and pre-season appointments are much easier to schedule.

What does a shutter tune-up involve?

We inspect each opening, clean and clear the tracks, check fasteners and hardware for salt-air corrosion, test motors and manual cranks, run every shutter through a full open-close cycle, and flag anything that needs parts before it fails.

My roll shutter motor stopped responding. Is that fixable?

Usually, yes. Motors, switches, and remotes can be repaired or replaced without replacing the whole shutter in most cases. Describe the symptoms on our service request form and we will get you scheduled.
